What are Southern Cross Orthopaedic Group’s business hours?

Our opening hours are from 8.30-5.00pm Monday to Friday. Our clinic is not open on Public Holidays.

How do I make an appointment?

You can make an appointment to see any of our Surgeons by calling or emailing the Surgeon’s secretary directly. Please visit the Contact Us page for all the relevant phone numbers and email addresses.

Do I need a referral to see a Surgeon at Southern Cross Orthopaedic Group?

Yes, you will need a referral from your General Practitioner.

Do I have to pay my consultation account on the day?

Yes, you will need to settle your account after your consultation.

What forms of payment do you take?

We take payments of cash, eftpos and credit card.

Are my consultations covered by Medicare and/or Private Health Insurance?

Yes, a portion of your consultation fee will be covered by Medicare. Your private health fund however will not cover consultations. Private cover is for hospital admission.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please remember to bring the following:

  • Your doctor’s referral
  • Your workers compensation/MVIT/health insurance information
  • Any relevant previous imaging
  • Any relevant splints or orthotics

How much time should I allow for my consultation?

Please allow a minimum of 30 minutes for your initial consultation. We also suggest to allow yourself extra time for travel and parking.
